Today’s online, algorithm-driven and potently realistic video games aren’t even comparable to the static games parents grew up with (Pac-Man, Tetris, Mario-Bros, Zelda). The video game industry has captured the heart and soul of children and adults through this form of interactive entertainment – sometimes, perhaps, too well. In this presentation parents will learn about the gaming industry, the platform Steam, the game Roblox, and the streaming website Twitch. We’ll discuss the dangers and benefits of gaming/streaming and the essential need for boundaries.
